February blog specials and contest

So here we are. Already one month into 2007. It's almost February. I love February for a lot of reasons. One of them being that my middle son's birthday is Valentine's Day. How sweet is that? He really gets excited about it and thinks that it's his special day. And it is. We always celebrate Valentine's day as a family and make great dinner and have cake.

February also means that spring is just around the corner. Finally we will be coming out of the cold and into the warm, green Texas spring. And you know what that means???

Bluebonnets!!!!!!!!!! And other beautiful Texas wildflowers. I can't wait for that.

But back to February. It's still pretty cool, and still pretty brown. Luckily in Texas we still have nice sun for indoor portraits and we still have enough warm days for maybe a few outside shots as well.

This little lady here is doing her best impression of the Valentine's Fairy. She sure was thrilled to get a lollipop bigger than her head. She was so overwhelmed that she didn't even cry when we took it away from her.

February Blog Special: All throughout the month of February, custom greeting cards will be 15% off. Also, Canvases will be 10% off.

Now for the fun part. The February Blog Contest. I just love these because I love to see people win things. Since Valentine's Day is a holiday where you share your love for others, this month's contest will be about best friends and special relationships.

E-mail me at stephanie@srevellphoto.com with the subject Feb contest, and tell me about your best friend and why she/he should win a complimentary photo session. Please put your name and e-mail address and your nominee's name and e-mail address as well. You can tell me the story of how and when you met, why you became friends, and why your best friend is the most special of all and deserves the free session. I will pick my top 5 favorite entries and draw one to win. The best part of this is not only will your very special best friend win a complimentary weekday session, but the person who enters their name will also win a $50 gift certificate good for session fee or prints. Isn't it nice when you can do something nice for someone else and still get a little treat yourself?

Valentines

I am thrilled this year to be able to offer tiny valentines as a special to all clients who had a session this past year. They are absolutely gorgeous and you will be the talk of everyone you know. They are small folded cards with your images. On the front is a small image, about an inch high.

And on the inside is a bigger image, about 1.5 X 1.5. The cards are printed on beautiful linen cardstock. Envelopes will not be included for these.

You may select any of your archived images for these cards. They must be ordered by this coming Monday, January 29th. Please contact me at stephanie@srevellphoto.com for pricing information.

Also, just a note that my e-mail address has changed. It's the one above. If you accidentally use the other one, it's okay though, because the other one will still work for a little while.

A winner!!!!

Congratulations to baby Molly Jo!!!! Her picture is the winning image of the splash page contest. It's easy to see why. She is a real beauty. Her mommy and daddy will also receive an 11x14 portrait of this image.

Thank you to everyone for the great response to the contest. It was a lot of fun for me. I should have the new splash page up very soon. Also, keep checking back to the blog as I have a great contest planned for next month.

Sessions are booking for the spring months already. Bluebonnets should be fantastic this year with all the much needed rain we have been getting lately. I can wait for everything to be green again and the spring time is a perfect time for family portraits.

January Blog Contest

It's time to start getting into the swing of the new year. As promised, here is the January blog contest. This month's contest will be to help me decide the new splash page image for my website. I am posting a few of my recent favorite images. You may cast your vote for your favorite through my website contact page at www.srevellphoto.com. To keep it fair, only one vote will be allowed per e-mail address. The winning image will put on the splash page of my website. That is the first thing that everyone sees when they go to my site. Also, the subjects of the winning image will receive a complimentary mounted 11x14 of the winning image.

Thinking about Valentines Day.

Little girls in red tutus. Little boys in ties. What better give to the ones you love than Valentine's day portraits. I am planning again to do half price mini sessions in the park (weather permitting) the 27th of January. I will have fairy outfits for little girls and try to think of something fun for the boys. Mini sessions book fast, so please call asap.

Also for the ladies, how about some beautiful, natural portraits of yourself for your hubby or boyfriend for Valentine's day. Sessions for boudoir portraits will be $125 and include your full session and a custom made hardcover book with your images tastefully composed inside. I will only have time for a handful of these, so please book soon.

Also, don't forget that January is half price maternity sessions.
