Happy New Year!!

Ok, so I am a couple of days early. I have a couple of things in the work for the new year and am ready to get started.

The first thing is senior portraits. I know it' s a little early to be thinking about these, but I am looking for a couple of high school juniors who would be interested in being ambassadors for me. You will receive a waived session fee in the spring and some complimentary wallet prints. In turn all I ask is that you share the wallets and your online gallery with your junior peers. There will also be great referral incentives. I will only take 2 juniors from each school in the area, so if you are interested, please let me know.

I am also looking for expectant mothers in the Georgetown area for maternity and mother and baby sessions. I will offer 2 half price sessions in the month of January. It will be first come, first served.

There is more to come, so please keep checking back. I will post very soon about a January contest for Valentine's Day.

Have a happy and safe New Year's Eve everyone.

'Tis the Season

I hope you are all gearing up well for the coming weeks of holiday madness. It's already crazy busy here. Many of you may not know this, but before becoming a stay at home mom of four and then a photographer of your beautiful children, I was a pastry chef. I have a full degree in culinary arts and love to cook and better still, EAT!! In light of Christmas coming, and all the cooking I will be doing, I thought I would share one of my favorite holiday recipes with you all.

Cranberry Walnut Bread.

INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup butter
3 cups white sugar
3 eggs, beaten
6 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
2 1/4 cups orange juice
3 tablespoons orange zest
3 cups chopped cranberries
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease three 8x4 inch loaf pans.
Blend together butter, sugar and eggs.
Sift together the flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Add to wet ingredients, alternating with orange juice.
Mix in the orange rind, cranberries and walnuts. Stir until just combined and pour into prepared pans.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

There you go. Enjoy.

And don't forget to check back soon. I have some special treats for my blog readers starting Monday!

All boy

I have been photographing this little guy since he could barely sit up. He's gotten so darn big and oh those curls. ( Believe it or not he used to be bald!) We had fun at the park. It's a favorite for this age because they sure do love to explore. After having to reschedule this session because of a nasty foggy morning, we were rewarded with a perfect day.

I have finally gotten over my technical difficulties. Of course the busiest time of the year is when the computer wants to go crazy, right? But a new hard drive and much work by my darling husband and I am good to go. Now I can make the most of my wonderful new camera in the year to come. I am really hoping to the the new website up and running by next week. Fingers crossed.

This year has been great, I can't wait to see what next year will bring. I am sure it will be wonderful.

Calm amidst the chaos.

Well the holidays are officially upon us, and doesn't the time fly by? I believe that nothing makes up stop and appreciate life like a newborn baby. It was my pure pleasure to photograph this sweet angel. I almost never get sleepy babies, but this one, she made my day. She was sleepy and curly and.....perfect. An absolute photographer's dream.
